PURPOSE: Nonprofit organization for the preservation and extension of knowledge concerning the ecology, cultivation, hybridization, appreciation, and uses of orchids.

MEETINGS: The Connecticut Orchid Society (COS) meets every month except July and August as per the following schedule unless otherwise posted:

DATE: Second Wednesday of every month
TIME: 7:30 PM; Show & Sales Table @7:00 PM
LOCATIONS: Consult monthly schedule

Meetings general consist of a short business meeting, followed by the special topic or lecture, and then a review of the Show Table.

The Show Table, actually tables, includes flowering orchids that are displayed by Society members. This is the equivalent of a mini-monthly flower show devoted to orchids representing an extremely varied cross-section of the orchid world. The review of the Show Table provides insights about judging standards and care and culture of orchids.

Guests are always welcome to Society meetings and if you sign the guestbook, you will receive 3 introductory issues of the Newsletter.

NEWSLETTER: Members receive the Connecticut Orchid Society Newsletter, which is printed monthly and mailed at the beginning of each month. It contains information on the next meeting, current news, and a listing of plants and their growing that were displayed on the Show Table at the previous meeting.
